Participating in YEP’s program and camps has significantly changed my perspective on overcoming challenges, stepping out of my comfort zone, and enhancing my outdoor skills. A pivotal moment for me was the KAYAK camp in August 2023, where I faced a risky situation that taught me the importance of decision-making and trusting others, particularly through the guidance of the facilitator. Additionally, I developed a keen interest in climate change, especially regarding its effects on livelihoods and ecosystems around Tonle Sap Lake, and I became aware of the struggles people face and the urgent need for effective action.
