Basic Outdoor Skills

On any adventure, having basic knowledge and skills will keep you safe and make sure you are able to fully experience the natural world. Unfortunately, we have become dependent on technology and often think we don’t need these skills to be outdoors with modern equipment. Choosing the location for camping, finding tinder and firewood, having safe drinking water, and orientation without electronics are essential for your independence and to keep you out of (or getting you out of) potentially dangerous situations.

In this course, we will cover basic knowledge and skills for the outdoors such as:

• learn how to set up a campsite, make fire, and find water;
• learn how to orient yourself by using a compass with games and other activities;
• learn how to read the clouds for weather forecasts;
• gain knowledge about local biodiversity;
• experience the deep exchanges around the campfire;
• meet like-minded people who share the same values and interests.

Facilitators:

Dominik Kron: An experienced outdoor guide ranging from European forests to Southeast Asian jungles, Dominik is passionate about sharing nature's grounding power. He uses a calm, caring approach to help participants feel safe and comfortable exploring the natural world. Currently, he is focused on bringing empowerment and learning opportunities to young adults in Vietnam.

Eligibilities:

• Age between 18 - 30 years old
• All gender
• Beginners with little experience in the outdoors
• Interest in Camping and Outdoor life, sustainability and ecology, Interest in learning basic hard skills

Number of participants:

6 - 14 people

What's included:
